About Us

Making a Difference

Wolfe Street Academy is a Community School and Conversion Charter School operated by the Baltimore Curriculum Project.  We serve students and their families in the Upper Fells Point neighborhood, providing high quality academic programming and helping families develop resources that allow them to overcome barriers to success.

Our school serves over 250 students from Pre-K to 5th grade on a site that has housed a succession of public schools since 1852. The buildings have changed but these schools have always served the most recent immigrant population who seek new and better lives in Baltimore. Over 80% of our students speak a language other than English at home and more than 85% of our students come from low-income households.

The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically.  Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education.
